Last-Minute Social Media Tips for a More Meaningful Easter

Easter is almost here, and if you’re feeling a little behind on your church’s social media planning, you’re not alone. Holy Week is always full. There are bulletins to finish, sermons to polish, lilies to arrange, and volunteers to coordinate.

So if the social media strategy fell a bit lower on the list—this is your friendly reminder that there’s still time to make a meaningful impact online.
The good news? You don’t need a full campaign to connect with people. A few thoughtful, last-minute posts can extend a warm invitation, build community, and help Easter reach even more hearts.

Here are some simple, low-effort ideas that can make a real difference this week.

1. Record a Quick Video Invitation

Don’t overthink it—just open your phone and record a short message from the pastor or staff. A 30-second video saying, “You’re invited to Easter at First Presbyterian Church” with service times and a warm welcome can be powerful. Authenticity matters more than polish.

🟢

Post it to Facebook, Instagram, and your church website.

🟢

Pin it to the top of your feed so it’s easy to find.

2. Share a Simple Easter Service Graphic

If you don’t already have a branded graphic for Easter service times, you can make one in minutes. Look here for some starter ideas in Canva

Choose a clean, readable design and include:

  • Easter Sunday service times
  • Church name and location
  • Website or livestream link

Encourage members to share the post or tag a friend. That one click could mean someone new walks through your doors this Sunday.

3. Create a Countdown Post

Help build a sense of anticipation with daily posts:

🕊

 “Easter is 3 days away!”

🌿

“Join us for Good Friday worship tomorrow.”

☀️

“We can’t wait to celebrate Easter with you!”

You can include Scripture, a photo from last year, or a short devotional thought. These help remind people and add spiritual depth.

4. Encourage Members to Invite Others

The best way to grow your reach? Activate your congregation.

Post something like:

👋

“Our members are the best outread tool we have! Think of someone who could use a word of hope this Easter—and invite them to join you.”

You could even offer digital invitations that members can text, email, or post in their own social media stories. Or ask your members to like, comment, and share your posts.

5. Remember to Capture the Moment

Ask someone (even just a trusted volunteer with a smartphone!) to take a few photos or short video clips during Easter Sunday. Smiling faces, kids in their Sunday best, the sanctuary filled with light—all of it can be used:

  • In a thank-you post next week
  • On your website to show visitors what worship feels like
  • For a future welcome video or printed piece

Bonus: Tag people (with permission!) and thank them for coming.

7. Post a Warm Follow-Up on Monday

A simple message like:

🌸

“What a joy to celebrate Easter with you! Whether you’ve been with us for years or joined us for the first time, we’re grateful you were here. We hope to see you again soon.”

Include a link to your next worship opportunity or small group gathering. People who visit on Easter may be curious about what’s next.

You Don’t Need Perfect—You Just Need Presence

You don’t have to be a digital marketing expert to use social media well this Easter. You just have to show up with heart, welcome, and hope. A few meaningful posts can plant seeds that grow into real connections. So take a deep breath, pick one or two ideas, and know that even the smallest post can have significance.
